Grammatical Peculiarities ofIidioms Interpreting
In order to correctly make Russian translation of a book, newspaper article or any type of creating writing one shall know how to translate correctly from English to Russian idiomatic expressions.
Wewill now have a close look at some aspects ofphrasal expressions. An important point that has to be stressed is that phrasal verbs are not only colloquial words, as plenty of people think. They may be found in formal style and in colloquial speech. They can appear in verse or in the language of Shakespeare and newspapers.

What, then, is an idiom? One can say that an idiomatic expression is some collocation of words which, taken in the same place, mean something unique from the separate phrases of the idiomatic expression when they are found alone. The way in which the expressions are combined is in some cases funny, strange or even grammatically wrong. These are the special features of some idioms. Other idioms are absolutely common and logical in their grammatical aspects and vocabulary. Due to the special features of some idiomatic expressions, we shall learn the idiom in general and we often fail to amend any part of it (except maybe, only the tense of the verb).
English language is very rich in idiomatic expressions. In fact, it is difficult to speak or write English language without using idiomatic expressions. An English native speaker is sometomes not aware that he is using an idiom; perhaps he does not even understand that an idiom which he implements is grammatically wrong. A non-native learner makes the correct use of idiomatic English one of his main aims, and the fact that some idioms are illogical or grammatically wrong causes him difficulty. Only careful study and exact learning will help.
It cannot be explained why a particular idiom has developed an unusual arrangement or choice of phrases. The idiom has been fixed by long usage as is often understood from the vocabulary.
